I picked up the smaller size fermenter, because I wanted it to fit normally on my fridge shelf. The pouring spout keeps things clean (no drips!) and functions as a neat storage pot for keeping drinkable kefir on tap. When I make more kefir, I just top off the 2nd fermenter and make cheese/whey from the remainder. Weck jars are terrific, additional storage and usable for other things, but make for a messy pour. My fermenter came with the fermentation clock. This is also smartly designed. I accidentally dropped the disk in my kefir once. Just needed a rinse off. No warpage. We go through enough kefir that I now use the fermentation clock when I have to put the kefir grains to sleep for a few days or weeks. All in all, it was a smart purchase. Keeps the kefir making and consuming streamlined in the kitchen.

Heavy duty glass jar fits nicely in your hand. The small top makes it easy to drink from the jar. The big lid and size of the jar opening makes it easy to clean as you can easily fit your whole hand and scrubber inside. The gasket inside the lid is easy to remove and replace during cleaning. The big lids are interchangeable with other of their 900ml and 1400ml jars. Stylish and practical.
